CAP Youth Intern Coordinator Position
Program Administration/Development/Management
- Ensure that all student reports are completed on time and submitted to Regional CAP Coordinator.
- Ensure that payroll records are completed properly and that all timesheets are passed in on schedule.
- Write, edit, proofread, and publish all correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Prepare, edit and submit weekly CAP success stories for the local newspaper.
- Plan and lead the Summer Student Orientation Day.
- Plan and lead the information and networking sessions using web-conferencing software (every 2 weeks after students start).
- Plan and lead the wrap up luncheon and afternoon sessions.
- Collaborate, coordinate and share resources with other CAP Youth Intern Coordinator and CAP Youth Interns as much as possible using specific ICT software such as Skype, Elluminate Live and email.
- Manage communications with CAP Youth Interns and their Supervisors through contact lists, email, phone calls and faxes.
- Liaise with Regional CAP Coordinator on an ongoing basis.
- Visit CAP Sites during time of employment.
- Develop region information brochures with Regional CAP Coordinator.
- Plan and monitor regional project (theme to be determined)
Technical Support (If possible)
- Set up and or maintain hardware and software
- Provide network troubleshooting
- Assist the CAP Youth Interns with the development of CAP Tracker in sites
Web Site Development (If possible)
- Update or create a Web site for the Kings – West Hants region and/or rural community organization (if possible)
Promoting and Creating Awareness of the CAP Site
- Inform a broad range of community members about the programs and services available at CAP Sites
- Market the CAP region by collecting material for publicity and promotional material from local CAP Site activities and programs
- Assist with a bi-annual CAP Newsletter in your CAP region
- Promote the awareness of E-Commerce to local small businesses
- Organize information sessions regarding ICT and other promotional events in the local community
- Write “Good News Stories” and circulate in the local region
- Encourage local media to do stories on the CAP Sites.
- Promote the sites in your region as a value added service in your community for local tourists
Special Projects
- Assist in various special projects that promote CAP.
- Assist with the local CAP Partner with their local activities
- Promote the development of ICT capacity in your local area
- Responsible for various projects as outlined by the CAP Regional Coordinator
- Other duties as required.
